kanon-uguu_400.jpg

~uguu… dems haterz be ice grillin’ on me… howz bout I whip out my glock and cap themz sorry @#$es…

whitehatazn-48.jpgSo now that I have gotten home from work, I started my usual searching through the interweb through my normal anime starting links (considering I do the same thing at work when I’m free). This time I’ve stumbled upon this most recent ANNtv video. I saw the first few videos for ANNtv and while they provided usually a video personality behind a previous news story, it was still interesting to know where they planed to take the show. This ANNtv episode introduced a new segment with this guy by the name of Mike Toole. The Mike Toole segment included a new “review” segment to the ANNtv show and his first review happened to be on the first volume of the R1 Kanon DVD. Being interested about any review on the North American release of one of my favorite shows, I watched parts of the segment and… well… I’m one of the people who have a good number of things to say along with those who voiced their opinions on the ANN forums.

Torture to an Anime Fan’s Soul – Out burying my laptop hard drive…

Sunday, January 27, 2008

hard_drivefire_400.jpg

And we gots fire! Although, it wasn’t as spectacular as previous years…

whitehatazn-48.jpgSaturday was kinda of a crappy day for me. The hard drive to my laptop died and with it went gigabytes of anime happiness. Although this time, I wasn’t caught completely out of the blue on this one. I pretty much knew that my laptop was gonna crap out at some point and I luckily had enough of foresight to setup the network hard drive and prepared disk images from the original university setup. Since the laptop soon needed a refresh, replacing the beat up old hard drive with a new one revived my 3yr old lappy. However it was still a pain in the ass to re-setup everything and I still lost fair bit amount of stuff that I won’t get back (several projects, some of the newer blog stuff and a few rare files).

The somewhat good thing that resulted from this mess is something I rarely do nowadays. I opened up and read a book as I waited until the re-imaging finished. Considering that I am a computer engineering graduate, it’s times like these where I realized how dependent I am on computer technology for all my anime, news and communication. Interestingly enough, at least the book was anime related. I finally opened up Susan J. Napier’s Anime: from Akira to Howl’s Moving Castle. I actually felt kinda bad that I haven’t read much at all since graduating from college (last May). Hopefully I can get back to more reading.

I hope to recover a few things related to the blog and be at regular speed soon.

Going down with everyone else… The Great Anime Recession of 2008!?

Sunday, January 20, 2008

whitehatazn-48.jpgIf you opened up a copy of the Wall Street Journal lately or looked at any website on the United States economy, the big evil word everyone is talking about is recession. Between the subprime mortgage mess and the ridiculous prices for gas, you can’t seem to avoid the big evil word of doom these days if you are an American. As for amateur investors like myself, these are times that really test our souls. Amateur investors don’t have the time or experience to manage through these tough times nor do they have the financial capital to make up for mistakes. With all this going on, many are concerned about the current state of the United States economy.

I’m in despair! The U.S. economy, Ben Bernanke and the BCS has left me in despair!

Chigau’s “On Tap” For Winter 2008.

Wednesday, January 16, 2008

chigaimasu-48.jpgHappy new year, blogonauts. Along with the new year, let’s celebrate the new television season! Hooray! I’m going to guess that no one was as stoked as I was that they brought back American Gladiators. Winter 2008 is going to be awesome.

Fall 2007 Carryovers:

Ok. All kidding aside now. Let’s talk anime. With the new season comes new anime, but first, let me see what I have carrying over from Fall ’07:

Dragonaut: The Resonance – Seriously, I thought this was going to end in one season. Looks like my review will have to wait for now. Not big on it right now, we’ll see if it can get turned around, or if it’ll confirm my beliefs. I will sit this through for as long as I can, just for the review.

Seriously, you’re so annoying. The quicker they get rid of you, Kazuki, the better I’ll feel about Dragonaut in general.
