Welcome to Anime Academy,

This is the Anime Academy blog. My name is koneko-chan and I am both the admin and the primary writer of this blog. I hope to have more writers on this blog soon as I am expecting my bro and sis to be writers on this as well. I hope to bring another perspective on anime from the NJ/NY/PA area.

So what is Anime Academy about? This blog attempts to take an academic approach to anime. It attempts to explore new perspectives on anime and anime stories. The entries on this blog will be of a wide range which may include anime reviews, news stories, opinion pieces and anime-related culture items. The actual way forward has not been set in stone. My hope for the blog is that it maintains a sense of focused pseudo-professional writing towards anime. Hopefully (and for some, unfortunately) you won’t see any lines on this blog like “<anime title in caps> IS DA SHIZNIT! IT PWNS ALL!” or “omfg, episode N of <anime title> is just… omgwtf”

As for right now, this blog will focus primarily on complete series reviews and opinions/thoughts. I would like to avoid episode reviews mainly because that would be alot of work and there are many other blogs that make episode reviews regularly. Opinions/thoughts would be good to start with. News items are a bit tough mainly because we don’t have any major connections and the time to verify sources.

So that’s what I have so far. Please stop by when actual articles come up. Also, let me know what you think. Comments always appreciated.
